The foundation’s pillars and core principles reflect the fundamental values and goals that guide the organisations initiatives.

Education and Awareness

  • Share knowledge and practices with stakeholders about sustainability and ESG on solutions of waste reduction, recycling, climate smart agriculture (CSA), green buildings, and solutions to the global drivers of biodiversity change (pollution, climate change, land use management, direct exploitation, invasive species) and additional indirect drivers that are related to the development of societies and economies.
  • Provide training on sustainability and environmental, social, governance (ESG) standards, such as the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), IFRS, and others.
  • Storytelling in sustainability, particularly in relation to the Paris Agreement aids experts and journalists to utilise narratives to communicate the urgency and importance of climate action and carbon reduction to the stakeholders of Botswana

Community Participation

  • Engage and partner with stakeholders to promote sustainability efforts.
  • Organise and support sustainability events and campaigns required for the benefit of partner stakeholders.

Innovative circular-economy and nature-based solutions

  • The foundation supports research and application of nature based solutions such as flood management, climate resilient farming, urban greening and others.
  • Nature based solutions are mandated to protect, sustainably manage and restore natural or modifies ecosystems to address stakeholder challenges while simultaneously benefiting people and nature.

Policy Advocacy and Research

  • Conduct sustainability research projects in partnership with local, subregional and international organisations.
  • Advocate for policies that promote sustainability and the circular economy.

Youth Engagement

  • Empower youth to become future eco-leaders through sustainability and ESG driven projects and mentoring.

Preserving local and indigenous cultures

  • Contributing to adapt sustainable strategies to fit and preserve local traditions and values.
